Tours in The Gambia- Full Day

Gambian Home Cooking Day

Experience the local Tanji fishing market where we’ll buy fresh local produce to cook a group meal. This is slow-cooking at its best, fully allowing the flavours to emerge and giving us time to chat, play local games, learn about the local cuisine and culture, and enjoy the delicious aromas from the pot. The meal is enjoyed in the garden and is topped off with local tea, fruit and poetry recital.

Kunta Kinte Island

We’ll visit the island from the movie/series, “Roots.” St. James Island is one of the launch points for enslaved persons leaving the West coast of Africa. This island, located off the coast of The Gambia, hosts a museum, the UNESCO World Heritage site, and the actual birthplace of Alex Haley’s (and possibly your) ancestors. We’ll tour the museum, visit the village, and take a boat to the island to discover with one of the very knowledgable docents.

Gambian River Cruise

Join us as we take a private all-day cruise on the Gambian River. Enjoy the double-decker boat (equipped with restroom) as we sail peacefully viewing the various exotic birds and mangrove swamps in the area. Guests can enjoy games and music as the cruise proceeds over the course of the day. It will additionally, include non-alcoholic drinks, morning snack, and full buffet lunch.

Coco Ocean Spa Day

The very luxurious Coco Ocean Hotel & Resort is known for its sumptuous digs, but their spa and authentic Moroccan Hammam can’t be beat! You’ll have your pick from any two spa offerings after your confirmed booking, so all you have to do is show up and relax. You’ll have your run of the grounds while we’re there-pools, exclusive beachfront, relaxation areas, etc.
